What is the difference between Reversal and Refund options in Merchant Portal?

In Merchant Portal you are given two action items for a transaction, Reversal and Refund. Reversal applies to Pending Authorizations(PA) and Refund applies to settled transactions. Reversal is how you would cancel a same day transaction, whereas Refund will actual apply a credit back to the consumer for a settled payment.
